Scottish Karate Federation -  Elite Scotland Team

Congratulation to Josh Burns and Rebekah Bonar who have been selected for the Scottish Karate Federation – Elite Scotland Team.

 

They have both impressed the Scottish coaches this year and have achieved a spot in the elite team. We are very proud of you both and the dedication you have shown to your karate over the years.

SKGB Director of Refereeing

Congratulations to Kirsten Bonar who was appointment as SKGB Director of Refereeing.

You have worked hard for your Scottish Karate and we are sure you will continue to do so in your new role.

Again another fantastic achievement for our wee club!! It goes to show just how involved in their sport your instructors are and they continue to dedicate a lot of time to Scottish Karate and its future.

First Female European Judge B

Congratulations to Kirsten Bonar 5th Dan of W.K.C Karate. In turkey at the European Championships Kirsten passed her exams and was awarded her European Judge B qualification.

Kirsten is the first female in Scotland all styles of karate to be awarded a European qualification.

This is a fantastic achievement for Kirsten and the club but also the Scottish Karate Federation and the Scottish Karate Governing Body.

Vice – Chairman of the Scottish Karate Federation

On Monday the 3rd June 2013 Charlie Lindsay 7thDan decided it was time for him to resigned from the Vice-Chairman if the Scottish Karate Federation. Charlie decided it was time for him to move on and
focus on coaching his young students and it would give younger members of the Federation the opportunity to take up the role and help take the Federation forward into the future.

 

On Sunday 23rd June 2013 the SKF held their AGM and at this meeting to position of Vice-Chairman of the SKF was up for appointment. Grant Bonar 5th Dan was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the
Scottish Karate Federation.

 

This is fantastic new for our club as well as Grant himself. Grant has been involved in Karate for 27 years and what he has managed to achieved in his karate career so far is amazing.

 

Well done Grant and we wish you good luck in your new post.
